409 stainless is an industry standard. It is not the same as kitchen sink stainless! There are different grades of steel, one is bright and shiny but very difficult to bend and very expensive to purchase. This is grade 304. The automotive industry uses grade 409 as its standard. 409 is easy to work with, very strong, not overly expensive and will not rust.
